Every Woman Matters

Every Woman Matters (EWM) is a program offers enrollment, screening and education information to eligible person in Nebraska. It can connect you to Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening, Heart Disease and Diabetes Screening and Preventative Health Services. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be 40 – 74 years of age
  • Must be a citizen or legal resident of the State of Nebraska
  • Must meet program income guidelines 
  • Must not have health coverage that would pay for preventive services
Ages Program Services

18 and up (men and women) State Pap Plus STD testing/Pap test

21-39 years of age (women) State Pap Plus Pap Test-Cervical Cancer Screening

21 and up (women) EWM Breast and Cervical Cancer Diagnostics

40 and up (women) EWM Screening for breast and cervical cancer, hypertension, cholesterol, glucose, obesity and smoking

45 and up (men and women) NCP Colon cancer screening

Eligibility criteria to receive services allowed through the EWM, NCP, or the State Pap Plus Program is also based on age, personal and family history, and last screening due dates.

Community Health Workers

South Heartland works to connect with each and every community in the district. To help us accomplish this, our team includes, two community health workers (CHW). CHWs are in the field connecting with individuals every day within the communities they serve. CHWs connect people to community resources and health care, cancer prevention and screening, navigation to diagnostic services and individual health coaching as we work to help women live longer and healthier lives.
